“Forever” is the main logo for the final installment of The Twilight Saga movies. Based on the worldwide best-selling vampire-romance novels by Stephenie Meyer, Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the fifth movie of the saga and is also a continuation of Breaking Dawn Part 1 which had hit theaters last year on November 18. This year, Breaking Dawn Part 2 had hit theaters in the U.S on November 16 and here in Sulimani a week after and is now the #1 movie in the world.
There has been a lot of commotion from the Twilight fans (known as the Twihards) and the media concerning of what to expect from the last Twilight movie. The Twilight fans have been anticipating the last movie ever since the saga became a worldwide phenomenon. This is mainly because Breaking Dawn Part 2 has many different twists from the rest of all the movies, most importantly the transformation of Bella (Kristen Stewart) into a vampire and the mysterious birth of Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella’s daughter Renesmee, who is played for the first time by Mackenzie Foy. One thing for sure, the Twihards were more than satisfied with the result.
When the newborn Bella starts off her new life as a vampire, everything looks more sensual and brand new. She is not the same person she was as a human. She is also now a wife and a mother of a half- human half-vampire child who presents a mystery to the Cullens’ family. The ancient and powerful vampires, known as ‘The Volturi’ consider Renesmee as a threat to their species and set up to fight off The Cullens’ family. Knowing they have a very slight chance of winning, The Cullens family start gathering all the vampire covens from across the world to witness for Renemsee.
For the last five years The Twilight Saga had created a fandom all over the world. The books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) have sold millions of copies and have been translated into more than 35 languages. The question remains is: what’s next? Because movie adaptations from books has proved to be very successful, more and more famous books are now being transformed into movie series. Stephenie Meyer may be done with Twilight, but she is now working on a new movie adaptation The Host, which also based on her best-selling one book novel and will be released next year in the end of March. Many other movie series like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones are already some of the most anticipated movies for 2013, along with Beautiful Creatures, Delirium, and Divergent.
